I have always been someone who likes to make things, try a new craft, sew, sketch, take photos - the list goes on! When holidaying with my family we would all take photos of places we visited, things we found, much like any family.
But when we got home and looked at all the pictures we had taken, there was always a definite theme to mine, and I would generally be light-heartedly teased about it!
My pictures would ALWAYS feature trees, or leaves, or tree bark……. see where this is going?
So when I was deciding on a name for my company, I knew instinctively that it would feature a tree or trees in one form or another.
One of my favourite places to visit is Italy, and albero is the Italian word for tree. Simple. Perfect. Search over.
As well as working on Albero, I was also building a digital sewing pattern company with my 2 daughters, Charlotte and Rebecca. Soon it became clear that combining the 2 businesses would make sense, allowing us to streamline our products to create something really special. And so Notch Patterns merged into Albero where we now combine our digital patterns with kits, handmade bags and accessories as well as a bag making experience which all use our unique designs.
Thank you for reading our story. We look forward to sharing our creative journey with you!
